Student Marketing Representatives Wanted
Marshall Link Is Always Looking For Great Callers and Staff
Working at Marshall Link can not only be a fun experience, but it can be financially and professionally rewarding. Listed below are reasons why you should apply to be a part of the growth of Marshall University.
Job Title: Marshall Link Marketing Representative.
Pay Rate: $7.50 per hour, plus bonus and incentive opportunities and increases for returning callers.
Function: Under the direct supervision of Marshall Link’s professional staff,
marketing representatives solicit funds from prospective donors and
maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Become skilled in proper solicitation techniques
- Be familiar with University facts and the colleges/departments/programs that you will be soliciting for
- Professionally communicate Marshall Link’s mission and priorities
- Successfully renew and upgrade previous supporters
- Maintain current and accurate records for university use
- Meet Marshall Link performance standards
- Work at least two nights a week, except during university closure and finals weeks
- Identify prospects with the potential to make major gifts
- Perform other Marshall Link duties as assigned
Special Skills & Requirements
- Fundraising, telemarketing, public relations and/or sales skills helpful
- Excellent communication skills a must
- A good understanding of negotiation techniques
- Working knowledge of and/or interest in helping Marshall University
- Respect for the University and its affiliates
- Ability to manage school work load and job hours
- Courteous and engaging personality on the phone
- Ability to work in a fast past team environment
Marketing Representative Role
To succeed, a marketing representative must be able to convincingly articulate the university’s goals as taught in training and as outlined in the fact sheets and scripts. The money raised id crucial to the well-being of Marshall University. The marketing representative plays a very important role, not only as a fundraiser, but also as a representative of the University providing a positive impression of Marshall.
