Dr. Lynne S. Mayer
Associate Vice President of Development

Dr. Lynne S. Mayer is Associate Vice President of Development, Marshall University. She oversees the university’s Development Services and University Fund operations, as well as scholarship cultivation and stewardship. She currently directs the Planned Giving program.

Prior to joining the Development Office, she served in various capacities at Marshall including Special Assistant to the President, Director of Planning, and Research Specialist of Information Services in the West Virginia Research Coordinating Unit for Vocational Education.

Dr. Mayer earned her doctorate in Higher Education Administration from West Virginia University, in cooperation with Marshall University. She also received an M.B.A. in Management from Marshall University, an M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her baccalaureate degree from University of Michigan.

Dr. Mayer is past president of the Greater Huntington Estate Planning Council, and member of the National Committee for Planned Giving, KYOWVA Planned Giving Council and the Huntington Rotary Club. She is past president of B’nai Sholom Congregation in Huntington and is a member of the Huntington Chapter of Hadassah and National Council of Jewish Women.

Dr. Mayer resides in Huntington with her husband, Paul Mayer. They are the parents of two grown daughters — Rachel and Debbie.
