Rebecca McPhail Samples
University Fund Director

Rebecca McPhail Samples is the assistant vice president Marshall University’s Office of Development. She is responsible for oversight of Marshall’s University Fund and Annual Giving, Prospect Research, Donor Relations, Development Services departments, and The Bridge Campaign. Prior to becoming assistant vice president she served as Marshall’s director of annual giving.

Samples career has included work as director of development at the University of Charleston where she planned and implemented a $1.5 million annual fund campaign, reaching 133 percent of the university’s goal. She also served as development and grant research manager and interim director of development for the YMCA of Greater Cleveland.

Samples is a 1996 graduate of West Virginia University Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in history and government. She is an active member of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Committee, Generation West Virginia, The Rotary Club of Huntington and is Vice Chair of the Board for the Team for West Virginia Children. She currently resides in Huntington, W.Va., with her husband, Stephen and two sons, Garrett and Owen.
